Synergy

iStreamPlanet has been selected by Turner Sports for the Web broadcast of the 2010 NASCAR Coca Cola 400 in 3D live from the Daytona International Speedway. iStreamPlanet worked in conjunction with Microsoft to integrate NVIDIA's 3D Vision technology and Microsoft Silverlight to create a seamless stereoscopic 3D experience viewable with 3D active shutter glasses.

This combined work resulted in iStreamPlanet developing a rich media player to be located on Nascar.com with an integrated interactive leader board where viewers can follow their favorite drivers, get real-time updates and switch between two camera angles.

Additionally, the player will also manage the delivery of a live web broadcast in 3D for those with NVIDIA 3D Vision Kit-enabled PCs or viewers with 3D-TVs connected to their PCs or Macs as well as contain advertising in the form of pre-rolls with companion ads built in Microsoft Silverlight 4 technology.

During the live event, iStreamPlanet will downlink the two live feeds from Daytona in their Webcast Operation Center based in Las Vegas, NV and encode them in IIS Smooth Streaming, push it to its cloud based origin and make available on the Akamai HD network for viewers worldwide.
